  • Thomas Edison, the king of inventors
  • Can you imagine life without electric lights?
  • It was American inventor Thomas Alva Edison (1847-1931) who invented an incandescent lamp that enabled us to live in a bright world. More than 1,000 U. S. patents are registered under his name, and we call him "the king of inventors." He received little formal education and worked as a train clerk and a telegrapher, but it did not deter him from creating up to 1,300 inventions during his lifetime.
  • He invented a phonograph in 1877, and in 1879 invented an incandescent bulb, which is considered to be his greatest achievement. His imagination and curiosity was the driving force behind the creation of his great inventions. Edison's inventions made a significant contribution to the technological development of a number of fields, including light bulbs, phonographs, projectors, generators, telegraphs, telephones and movies. Edison always invented with the aim of making people's lives more comfortable and convenient.
    • Just because something doesn't do what you
planned it to do doesn't mean it's useless.
